Logos that still scan
How a center logo uses error correction, how large it can be, and why QRNest forces level H while a logo is applied.
A logo in the middle of a QR code covers modules. Error correction is what makes that possible. Level H can rebuild more of the message than level L, so QRNest switches the symbol to H while a logo is present, even if you had selected another level. Remove the logo and the level you chose is used again.
The mark is drawn at about 18% of the image width, with a pad in the background color so the logo edges do not sit on half-covered modules. That size is a compromise. It is large enough to recognize and small enough that a clean code often still decodes. A full-bleed photograph will not.
Use a PNG, JPEG, or WEBP. SVG logos are rejected so a downloaded SVG cannot carry a script inside the image element. The file stays in the browser. It is not uploaded, and it is dropped when you remove it or leave the page.
The scan check is honest about failure. If the status says the preview was not readable, do not print it. Increase contrast, remove the logo, or enlarge the quiet zone. A pass means this browser’s decoder read the exact payload back. It does not measure every Android camera, damaged laminate, or tiny print.
If the brand mark is more important than a scan, do not put it in the code. Place it beside the symbol. A code that looks designed and does not scan has failed at the only job it has.
